No Echoes

SAY IT

TWO WAYS TO USE THE WORDS.

An echo is a thought you repeated without choosing it. A headline, a hot take, a line you heard said well. Everyone passes them along. Noticing one is where it starts.

WHEN SOMEONE REPEATS ONE

“THAT’S AN ECHO.”

Say it kindly, and mostly to yourself. It asks one question: do you actually think that, or did you just hear it?

Sometimes the answer is yes, and then it is yours. That is the whole test.

WHEN IT IS YOUR OWN

“NO ECHOES.”

Put it at the end of something you worked out yourself: a note, a toast, a post, a decision. It means you thought it through before you said it.

Every email we send ends with it, for the same reason.

A PRACTICE

NOBODY SIGNS UP. YOU JUST DO IT.

No Echoes is something people practice, one sentence at a time. Notice the echo. Decide what you think. Say that.

The shirts carry the words for anyone who wants to be reminded, and anyone who asks.
